Receiving Incoming mail copies in outlook2002

Pls Help:

I installed WINXP home edition with outlook2002 as a mail client on my
compaq presario2700 series,each time when i do send/receive i keep
receiving multiple
copies of mail,which i had already downloaded on my system.I removed
the setting like Leave message on server etc.

Is this is the bug in Outlook2002?or Winxp?
