Hi,

I am a french user of entourage v.X. I use entourage version 10.1.4
whith mac os 10.2.8.

I have a very troubleshooting problem. I write a message in text
format and I send this message to friend whith a copy for me but the
message is not complete. It appears that in the "source" of the
message, there is an "=" character with a dot that create a end of
file.

Here is the last line in the source of the message that I can see :

"Chow P.L. Stochastic wave equations with polynomial nonlinearity.
Ann. Appl="

Normally, there is a dot after Appl like "Appl." and a carriage
return...

I don't understand because i have verify that the option to "Partially
receive messages
over __ KB" is unchecked.

Help me.

Best regards to all and excuse me for the grammary because i am french

Does it happen with any message or just this one specific
message? How long is the message? The "source" you're
quoting, is it the source of the sent message or of the
received copy?

It's a mail server out there (maybe your own ISP's) which is badly
configured. When there is a single dot on a source line, Entourage doubles
it to ".." so that it will not be misinterpreted as "end of file". The
incoming mail server - the final one - should understand that and remove the
duplication but not end. Some mail servers screw things up badly because
they're improperly configured. It sounds like your own ISP has such a mail
server.

Hi Paul and thanks a lot for your answer,

The server mail in your scientific lab is "postfix". There is an
ingenieur that manage this mail server, he has installed an anti-spam,
that's "spam-assassin".

Could the problem come because of the anti-spam software or only
"postfix".

In the message, than i delete the dot after "Appl"., it works ! even
if there are other dots in the message ! It is very odd !

best regards paul.
