Recover deleted emails?

Hello.

I've deleted an email message I received and now need to recover it. Is this
possible?

I would also like to point a 3rd party data recovery tool to the place where
Entourage has deleted something so that I may recover it. Where might this
be (the trash icon never 'bulks' out when something has been deleted in
Entourage)?

Thanks.

This is not possible.

Entourage stores mail in a database. When you delete a messages it is
deleted from the database and does not go the the Finder Trash.

You could try opening the database with a text editor like BBEdit, but I'm
not sure the deleted mail is still there.

Your data is stored in the Microsoft User Data folder located in your User's
Document folder. Look for your Identity. It's called Main unless you have
renamed it.

Check the bottom of the Database page for some tips on using BBEdit on the
database.

FYI....

The database will be left with 'wasted' space in it every time you delete
something. However, this is not all bad, since the wasted space is used up
with new data as it is added. This way, over a period of time (assuming that
you are deleting stuff as you go) the database will probably reach an
optimum size, after which the stuff you delete is roughly equal to the stuff
you add, and no further growth takes place.
