recovering corrupt database

D

David Olsen

anyone aware of a way to recover a crashed entourage database. It fails to
"repair database" itself either typical or advanced. A prompt suggest I may
not be able to recover the database at all and provides an error, (-40) I
believe it was.

I have run Disk Utility and repaired Permissions.

Although I do realize I may be out of luck, any help would be greatly
appreciated.

Hmm, I had the exact same trouble just now and I managed to fix by moving
the database to anouther machine where it was okey to recover the database.
This machine was running Tiger (which I suppose dosn't matter) and Entourage
10.1.1. Unfortunately I can't check which version of Entourage the first
machine was running right now.

You should update to 10.1.6 on both. There were further improvements to the
database rebuilder.
