Recovering files after deleting account

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Intel

To stop Entourage trying to synch with an account I no longer use, I deleted the account under 'Tools'. As a consequence I lost all my email records, calendar, address/contacts, etc. The screen is just blank.
Since the database file in Main Identity is 1.69Gb, I suspect the data is still there.
My question is, how can I re-connect to it so that I can still access it for archival purposes?

This sounds like you had an Exchange account, correct?

I'm afraid the only way to access your data is to reconnect to your
server and allow your data to sync back to your machine again. The
Database file does not shrink automatically once data is removed.

If you have a backup of your Database file from before you disconnected
then you can restore that and switch to it to recover your data.

Hi Bill
You are correct, it was an Exchange file. I cannot now re-connect to the server. However I do have a .rge file backup which I made as a precaution. How do I reconnect to this file? ("Once bitten, twice shy" as we say in England -- having lost all the data once I am really nervouse about losing it twice!). Thanks

You may be in luck then. Just select File --> Import... and select your
..rge file.
