How do I recover Entourage notes deleted during a palm sync?
You can't - unless you make backups regularly and back up the Office X
Identities folder within the Microsoft User Data folder in Documents folder
in your user folder.
I accidently deleted Notes from my Palm handheld and from Entourage
(during a sync). Is there a way to recover?
If you have the Identities folders backed up, you can put that recovered
identity folder from backed-up Office X Identities into your current Office
X Identities folder, renaming it first. You have to use the whole database,
so renaming it means you won't wipe out your usual identity. If you've only
got a few email messages, contacts and events in the day or two since your
mishap, you can drag them out of your current identity to your desktop,
switch identity (in Entourage menu) to your recovered identity, and drag
those files back in (messages to the correct folders). In a few days, when
you're sure you've got all you need, you can trash the abandoned identity.
(And rename the continuing one back to what you like.) If you have too many
things gained since the mishap, instead you could get my shareware scripts
"Export-Import Entourage X" and export your notes from your backed up
identity and into your current identity. (there's no other way to export
notes.)
If you don't back up, you've lost the notes, I'm afraid.
