What now? All I did was install a new dvd r/w into my old computer. I am
running Windows XP with Office XP which was all upgraded from Windows ME.
After installing the DVD R/W outlook has detected significant changes in my
system and requires re-registration using the install disk. This poses a
problem because I do not have a XP install disk. I have the upgrade disk,
and the Office wizard does not recognize the old .msi file. On top of all
this I can't update Office because I am not recognised as the administrator
of this computer. I'm the only one on this computer! Can anyone help?

Activation generally does not require the CD,
rather try selecting Help=>Activate product and
use the telephone activation method.

When you do need the Office XP CD check in
Add/Remove programs in the Windows control panel
to see if the edition of Office XP listed as installed
matches the on on the CD or if there are other '2002'
series Microsoft apps listed. The CD being requested
may also be one of those. It will be named in the
bottom of the dialog asking for a CD.

For administrator you may need to logout and in
('Owner' is the same as Administrator if you're
using Windows XP Home Edition).

Sorry Mr. Buckland. My memory has returned. This computer was updated from
ME as I remembered, BUT Office was originally installed from MS 2000 premium
disc which was registered as a Coca Cola Employee Shared Key. This program
through Coke & Microsoft was terminated shortly after XP was released and we
(Coke Employees) we offered a discount on Office XP upgrades through
Microsoft. I have found my original MS Office 2k premium disk, and tried it,
"File not Found", I've tried my XP upgrade CD, "File not found", and I've
tried hooking the unit up to the phone line but "Activate Product" continues
to look for a cd without the option of dialing. I am currently running on a
cable internet connection. Any other suggestions?
Thanks
Joe

Tried them all multiple times now but still didn't work.
(Thanks for the suggestion)
Activate product doesn't try to dial, only looks for CD.
Further History: Office XP Originated from MS Office 2000 Premium through
Coca Cola Employee Share program. When XP was released Coke and Microsoft
offered Coke Employees discounted XP upgrades and discontinued the "Employee
Share" program. I have tried using my Office 2k disc, and each of my xp
upgrade disks.
I have also been told to uninstall Office and start over. (Scares Me) any
other suggestions?
