Reinstall Vis Studio 6 conflict

I wish to reinstall Visual Studio 6 on my computer, however when I click
setup on the 1st cd I get a message advising a similar version exists.
I looked at the readme for "side bi side installations" and it advised me to
remove the original program.
Using Belarc the only reference to vb is the following

Microsoft® Visual Studio .NET Version 7.00.9466

This program is not offered on the Add/Remove listing.
Does anyone know how I can remove this program prior to reinstall of Visual
Studio 6.

Take a really close look at the name of this group:
WORD.VBA. You'll have a better chance of getting an answer
to this very specialized question in a classic VB
newsgroup.

I realised my mistake and submitted accordingly,
I could not recall this post so I had leave it on.
Out of interest, I cured it by removing the VB6 folder in the registry.
