Reinstalled XP Pro, now we can't see our Email!! (Outlook 2002)

[Sorry, accidentally sent before ready]

We reinstalled XP Pro on our office computer; most
everything seems to have been preserved BUT we can no
longer view our saved email!!!!!

It would appear that our data is still on the computer -
There is a 50MB 'outlook.pst' file located in
C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Local
Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook, so I'm
guessing that's our email & we can still retrieve it -
BUT HOW??? We've tried opening that file, importing it -
nothing works.

Any suggestions much appreciated!!

How have you tried opening it? In Outlook, what happens when you click
File>Open>Outlook Data File and browse to that outlook.pst, select it, and
click OK?

Nothing much happens when we try to open it - no error - but if we view the
In box we see no messages. Strange ...?!? Do we have to switch to an
account or something like that? I just expected the In box to populate with
all our messages, but it just looks empty.

Then it may be that it is empty and you reinstalled in such a way as to
overwrite your old PST with a new, empty one. 50 Mb is fairly small for a
PST. Did you run the Inbox Repair Tool (scanpst.exe) on it?

Opening the .pst doesn't seem to do anything; mailboxes still appear empty.
Do we have to select a user account, or something like that?

Sounds like you overwrote your previous PST when you reinstalled. It would
appear you're out of luck.
