My Entourage main window –inbox– shows relative dates (today, tomorrow...). I have changed Entourage preferences to uncheck the "show relative dates" box but this has no effect. I have tried quitting the application and that also does not resolve the problem. In my previous Entourage (2004) I had no difficulty changing preferences. Suggestions?

Test in a new Identity to see if it sticks there. Could be database
corruption. Some preferences are actually stored in the database. If this is
the cause, I would not recommend doing a rebuild, I would start a new
database. Many users are experiencing odd problems with an imported
database. This seems to be cleared up by manually moving your data over to a
new Identity.

How to manually move your data:

I didn't import a database. This is a new iMac with no imported contacts or emails. Virgin, plain vanilla.

What now?

I have the same issue. It's very annoying. I would like 'Last Week" to
really mean last week, not simply more than seven days ago.

The relative dates preference only affects the dates of individual
messages themselves. If you're expecting this to change the group
headers then that is not possible.

Please be sure to let Microsoft know you'd like to see this feature in
future versions by using the Help --> Send Feedback mechanism in any
Office application.

If you'd prefer not to view in groups then you can select View -->
Arrange By and deselect Show in Groups.

Hope this helps!

Thank you. Your post answered my question and solved my problem. The "view in Groups" is want I wanted to eliminate, and now I know how to do it.
