Relaying denied, try authenticating.Error 5553

Mac OS 10.1.5
Every time I send or reply to an e-mail this message comes up.
"Relaying denied, try authenticating."
ERROR: 5553
When I use Apple Mail program can send & reply no Problem.
I would rather use Entourage because of the calander address book all
in on feature( Uhhum Apple?)

Go to 'Accounts' in Entourage. In there will be the settings for your
current mail account.

There is a section relating to the outgoing mail server. Look in there
for something saying 'My outgoing mail server requires authentication'
and check that setting. You should (generally) leave the setting to
use the same User ID/Password as your incoming mail server.

Sorry if it is a little vague but I'm currently away from my Mac
(ouch, using a Wintel box -yuk!) but it should point you in the right
direction.

Did you try authenticating?
