Reloading User Data

L

Lorelle Heywood

I've just formatted my computer and reinstalled everything. Before I did
that, I backed up my old "Microsoft User Data" folder in the "Documents"
folder.

The problem is, that now, with Entourage reinstalled, when I copy the old
"Microsoft User Data" folder to where the new default one is then try to
open Entourage, I get an error message saying "Can't open User Data with
this version of Entourage".

I've double checked and its the same version as previous.

Any ideas on how to get my old User Data (specifically the messages and
signatures) into the new install of Entourage?

Thanks

Use the Office Updaters from MacTopia to update Office back up to 10.1.5
(usually 10.1.2, 10.1.4, 10.1.5. If you already have v10.1.1, omit the
10.1.2 updater.) It sounds as if you had a more advanced update installed
when you last used Entourage than after reinstalling out of the box. (Most
versions of Entourage, including 10.1.0, 10.1.1 and 10.1.4 incorporate
improvements to the database engine.)
