"Reminders" not reminding

I am using Entourage 2004. I have noticed that the reminders I set for
Calendar items I create are not consistently popping up (as reminders)
when they are supposed to. I don't recall ever having this problem with
Entourage X. Is this a known issue? Any ideas on how to fix the
problem? Thanks!
