remove calendar icon from toolbar and left side menu

I am a new user and there are a lot of things I like about Entourage but all I want is an email program, not a calendar or to-do list. This seems to be a little bloated, sort of like the old WIN Outlook and what I want is Outlook Express for the MAC. So, how do I remove the icons mentioned in my Subject line? And I also want to remove the Apple mail To DO folder on the left side. And thank heavens, I found out how to ungroup.

You can't. This is an Entourage newsgroup. You'll need to ask on an Apple
forum about Apple Mail.

Hi Diana,
Thnaks for responding but I am talking about Entourage, not the Apple mailer. . For some reason, in Entourage, there is was a folder called Apple Mail To DO along with all the INBOX, JUNK, DRAFT, etc folders but I did manage to get rid of it.

Is "you can't" mean I leave the calendar icons where they are on the top menu and ignore the Calendar folder with my INBOX etc. folders on the left screen? It's not a big deal, just trying to clean up my screen. Thanks.

Did you import from Apple Mail? Entourage does not make these folders by
default.

The top right icons cannot be moved.

If you see a calendar & contacts icon down in the folder list, you can
select not to show them. Under View select "Show Folders only"

Thanks, Diane. "Show Folders Only" was what I needed. I did not import from Apple Mail but I did let Entourage figure out my email settings and one was my mac address. So, maybe Entourage picked up info that way. I am slowly learning my way around .

There is a lot to learn but you will love Entourage once you get find your
way around. As always have a backup strategy.

This will create a time-machine-like backup:

Thanks for the "get started with Entourage" which is terrific. And you will be glad to know that I am a backup freak. I have had 2 disk crashes where my disk was replaced and I lost nothing. I appreciate all your help and Entourage is now working nicely :)
