Removing limit to max newsgroups

I am currently using Mozilla Thunderbird to post to a newsgroup on a server
with 300,000+ different newsgroups. I wanted to try out Entourage, as there
is now a ³conversation² view (T-Bird supports threading, like Outlook
Express does, but Entourage does not).

Unfortunately in Entourage, it caps the number of newsgroups at 200,000.
(The bottom left shows ³200000 group(s), 200000 displayed²) I can¹t get to
the newsgroups I need to subscribe to. Is there a way to increase this
number or to type in the newsgroup name directly to subscribe (rather than
selecting from a list that is incomplete)?

Thanks!

I wasn¹t aware of this limitation. Is it a limitation of the number of
groups that can be downloaded, or just of the display pane?

If the latter, typing a partial name in the Œquick filter¹ box in the top
right hand corner of the window should narrow down the displayed items and
allow it to list the one you want.

Unfortunately, it appears that it is the number it can "handle" as I tried to narrow the list and it couldn't find the newsgroups. I have the same list available in T-Bird, so I know they were there at the same time (not missing on the newsgroup side). That displayed something to the tune of 300,000 odd groups. The red-flag for me was that it's never a round number, and Entourage showed *exactly* 200,000 newsgroups. :(
