Removing "new paragraph"

When I'm importing text from another program, the originator has typed only 3-4 words per line, then begun essentially a new paragraph. So every 3-4 words, there is a "carriage return/new line." I have tried to globally delete the paragraph marking and tried figure out a way to merge paragraphs so that there is a single flow. Help.
