Removing Speech Recognition

I do not use this function and would like for it not to pop up every time I
enter Word or Excel. Can anyone tell me how to remove this function?

Hi MWC,

Depends a bit on the version of Office. You can remove
the alternate Input features through Microsoft Office
in Add/Remove Programs in the Windows Control Panel

In Add/Remove Programs in the Control panel modify the Office
installation and under "Office Shared Features" set "Alternative User
Input" to "Not available".
