Repairing the database?

I just copied the database from one machine to another. On the new
machine Entourage would not open the file and wanted to "repair the
database."

1.) Anyone know what is wrong with the database and why it did this?

2.) Should I be concerned with the possibility of losing any of my data?

Check for permission in Database.when copying from one system t
another permission may change
