Repeat post: Failure of "Delete from server"

Sorry to repeat this post (below) but I am still having the problem and
receievd no suggestions 2 weeks back. I cannot find anything on the
Microsoft web site either.

Mac OS X 10.4.6
Entourage 11.2.3
PB G4 1.25 GHZ
POP account to Novell Groupwise email server: set to leave messages on
server

In the past 2 weeks I have noted that when I click the "Delete from
server" option from within an email message, the message is no longer
deleted from my email server and thus is immediately redownloaded at
the next connection. When I log in via a PC to Groupwise, the messages
are indeed still there after multiple attempts to "Delete from server"

I made no recent changes to my account settings, which I have again
verified as conforming to my IT group's instructions for a POP account.
Had no problems for 2.5 years before this week. I have also tried
unchecking the "leave on server" option, closing Entourage, reopening
and then rechecking "leave on server" (someone suggested trying this).

Any ideas how to restore the functionality of "Delete from server"?

This could be a corrupted message on the server. Do you have a web
interface you could use to access this mailbox and manually delete the
e-mail ??

I have both Web access and standard desktop access via Groupwise
(Novell's email program). I can delete messages from the server with
either of these but not from Entourage. Since the problem started, I
now have to use those programs (and not Entourage) to delete the
messages I don't want to save.

I suspect that the "Delete from server" command in Entourage is now
corrupted. And I suspect that means I would have to do a reinstall
Entourage to fix it, with all the challenges that can pose.

If you're using Entourage as an IMAP client with GroupWise, do you see a
difference by trying the same function with Apple Mail? I'd try to narrow
down whether it's just Entourage, or all IMAP clients, or something else
entirely.

Were messages deleted from the server before -- are you just noticing the
problem in the last two weeks, or has it been going on longer than that? If
so, what might have changed?

I am having the same problem. Some of the messages delete, but others
don't. If I use Mac Mail the problem doesn't happen. Its only Entourage.
