replacing the used Office 2003 Product Key with a correct one

A

Andrey

Hi,

By mistake i've installed Office 2003 using a Product Key
which is used on another station.

Now i am unable to activate the product since the key is
used before.

I have the correct Prodcut Key but when i run the Office
installation again, the program does not require to enter
a Product Key. The only way i see is to unistall office
comletely and then install it again:(

Is there a way to replace the Product Key with a correct
one wihthout uninstalling/installing it again?

Thanks,

Andrey

You can force a prompt for the Product Key by doing the following ...
- Locate the 'C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application
Data\Microsoft\OFFICE\DATA' folder.
- Rename or delete the 'opa11.dat' file (leave the 'OPA11.BAK' as it is).
- Launch any Office application. The Prompt for the Product Key will be
displayed.

I should have mentioned that on some machines you need to do this in the
''C:\Documents and Settings\All Users.Windows\Application
Data\Microsoft\OFFICE\DATA'. See if that works for you.
