Replacing whole paragraph with a single de-limiter

Hi,

Im having problems replacing a paragraph containing known
text - basically a page footer containing the text "
page " - with a de-limiter such as "$".

I can find the paragraph OK & even delete it & I can also
find & replace just text but I cant find text & replace
the whole paragraph with just one character.

Can anyone help?

Hi Phil
I am not quite sure, what the problem is,
but a storyrange, such as a header or footer or the mainstory,
contains at least one character, which is a paragraph mark,
and this paragraph mark cannot be replaced. The last paragraph mark
will stay, whatever replacement you try. You can delete it
however, as long as it is preceded by another paragraph mark.
If you try to replace a last paragraph mark, which is red,
by a paragraph mark that is blue, you'll end up with a blue paragaph
mark followed by a red one. If you select and copy a blue paragraph
mark over the last one, which is red, nothing happens.
Odd indeed.
