:
Entourage did work fine up to yesterday
Did you install an Apple update?
Yes that's what I'm saying. In normal view (preview turned off) I can
see all > me messages in the inbox. When I try to open it to read I get
a blank page > (the subject line does show up).
Let's try to find out where the problem is located. Identity, User's folder
or something in your base OS files.
1. Create a new Identity in Entourage. Test. If that works, then we can
try a rebuild of our database. Make a backup first in the Finder. How
to rebuild:
2. If that fails, create a new User in System Preferences. First, open
Entourage in a new blank Identity and test. If that works, then we want
to bring over your current working Identity and test. You'll need to move
the Identity to Shared in your regular User's folder. Switch to the new
test User. Drag from Shared (it actually copies) to the Microsoft User
Data folder in Documents. Unless you rename the test Main Identity it
will overwrite. That's OK... We're just testing. Does it work in the new
User. If yes, then there is something in your User's folder that is causing
the problem. If no, then we need to look at your base OS files.
Step One: You might need to download the combo updater from Apple and
run it again rather than using Software Update. Doing so overwrites potentially
problem-causing files. Combo updaters will install on the same version
as theyre applyingno need to roll back or do a clean install.
Leopard:
Mac OS X 10.5.5 Combo Update (For both PowerPC- and Intel-based Macs )
If that fails, then you might need to do an "Archive & Install" The last
time I had to do an "Archive & Install" I only had to reinstall my Microsoft
Keyboard software.
"Archive and Install" moves existing system files to a folder named Previous
System and then installs Mac OS X again.
Just be sure to check Preserve Users and Network Settings when you select
Archive & Install.
Mac OS X: About the Archive and Install feature
Let me know how the testing goes. If we find it's a problem with the system
files, I suggest you get SuperDuper. It has a feature that helps in situations
like this. We'll discuss this if this is the problem.

Diane thanks for the suggestions!
But before I could try them I did a little test...
Normally I work with a secondary monitor (Acer LCD) and I keep my email up there all the time while I work on the MacBook Pro screen. I decided to unplug the acer and see what happens. The Entourage window moved over to the MacBook screen as you would expect and Entourage is working fine again. I replugged in the Acer and left Entourage on the Mac screen and it still works fine....moved Entourage to the secondary monitor and I got the same original problem (reply and forward windows just show up as blank screens.) I haven't tried to change my secondary monitor to see if it's an Acer issue, but for now as long as Entourage stays on the MacBook screen I'm back up and running. Weird.
Thanks again for your help. As I try different monitor configurations I'll report back any significant changes or fixes.
