Replies end up in Inbox

I have a client whose using Entourage X. On occasion, when he replies to
message, a small note appears at the top of the message indicating that the
reply will be saved to the Inbox. Why is this happening? Shouldn't all sent
items end up in the Sent Items folder?

I have a client whose using Entourage X. On occasion, when he replies to

items end up in the Sent Items folder?

1. Probably your client has an Outgoing Rule set up for certain messages.
Check Tools/Rules/Outgoing Rules. If the rule once said that messages
meeting certain criteria should be moved to a particular folder, and then
that folder was deleted, the folder now reverts to the Inbox. It sounds like
that's happening. Find out if your client wants to set up a different folder
for this rule, or just delete the rule if not.

2. If it's not that, something more obscure: That note also appears for
Mailing List Messages where you have selected the option "Also move messages
that I send to the list to this folder" in an entry in Mailing List Manager.
If you ever delete the Folder which you've set for the MLM entry, it reverts
to Inbox. It sounds like that's what's happened.

Check Tools/Mailing List Manager to see if there are any entries there and,
if so, if one of them is in the situation above. The address listed in
"Mailing List Address" will apply itself to any message sent TO that address
and also any message FROM that address (if Entourage is v10.1.1 or later, I
think - perhaps 10.1.0). Your client may want to delete the MLM entry
entirely, or change the folder.
