I have a client whose business email address was set up by her employer to
auto-forward to one of her personal email addresses. She uses Entourage 2004
v11.2.3.

Of the three email accounts in her Entourage identity, the business account
is set as the default account. I set up a rule to auto-file any incoming
messages that get sent to her business email address into a folder called
"Business." When she replies to a message in that folder, her outgoing mail
address is the personal email address to which all incoming messages to her
business address are forwarded and not her business email address.

Is there a way to automatically have her replies to messages in her
"Business" folder come from her business email address instead of her
personal email address? I know she can manually select her business email
address from the "From" drop-down list, but I'm trying to keep her from
remembering to have to do that.

Hi Hal,

Just to make sure I've understood your problem, here's a summary of the
situation: your client gets her business email forwarded to her personal
email address. The emails that arrive in her "Business" folder are all
forwarded, so they are addressed to her personal account. Is that correct?

In that case, things get slightly complicated. The best solution would be to
disable the forwarding, so that Entourage can automatically pick up the
right account (i.e. the business account) by looking at the recipient's
email address used in the business messages.

There's one other option I can think of right now, and I'm not sure if
that's acceptable, but if most of your client's emails are sent from the
business account, she could set it up as the default account for replies.
That can be done under Entourage>Preferences, Mail & News Preferences, Reply
& Forward section [Reply using the default account]; however, this means
that the business account will be the default account for *all* the replies
she sends, so she will have to manually pick a different account for her
non-business emails.

Maybe someone else will come along with a better solution, so if none of the
above suggestions are helpful, just wait.
