When I reply to email sent to one account, I'll call it 'A', Entourage selects a different account, 'B' to reply. Account 'A', the one receiving the email, is the one that is set as the default (I've confirmed this many times in the account window), so how do I keep it from automatically selecting 'B'?

Entourage (menu) > Preferences > Reply & Forward > Reply using the default
account.

Normally, that should work. But the OP describes a situation in which the
mail was sent to the default account and the reply came from a non-default
account.

The most likely answer is that, contrary to OP's claims, Account 'B' was
actually set as the default account. But if OP's original description is
correct, this is very strange!

I have several times checked it, reset it, restarted the computer etc, and still have the problem.

As I said, account 'A' is set as the default, (it is bolded in the list and the "set default" button is greyed out) and even after resetting, restarting etc, entourage still often (but not always) chooses another account for the reply.

I do not have "reply to the default account" checked because I using several email addresses/accounts and want to respond to the one that is used in the email i receive.

Any other suggestions about making entourage reply using the account that was used in the received email for the reply? That is the problem. The program is, as far as I can see, choosing a random account for the reply. I don't think the problem is with the "default" setting.

thanks
