Replying adds addressee to contact list

Hi,

(Using Outlook 2000 and XP-Pro).

When I reply to an email, that person is auto-added to my contact list,
whether they are already there or not.

I do not have "Automatically add people I reply to..." checked in email
options. Is there something I missed????

thanX for your help,
Howie

Strange...Outlook Express replies were the culprit...the replies were being
stored in Outlook's contacts...now, who would have thought the PST and the
WAB files were changing one another !!!!!!!

They aren't, nor can they.
The user specifies where OE stores its Contacts. You had obviously told OE
to store in the Contacts Folder instead of the WAB file in the Address Book

Cool!

You are right. The path to change whether to use PST contacts or WAB file
is:
OE is TOOLS > OPTIONS > CONNECTION tab >
under INTERNET SETTINGS, the CHANGE BUTTON > PROGRAMS tab, and see
CONTACT LIST drop box.to select which address book to use.

thanX, Russ!

No, the path is the one I posted. That's where you determine whether OE uses
Outlook or uses its own WAB file.
