Replys using Gmail show up in inbox - rules not working

Hello all, I'm new to Mac and to Entourage so I'm hoping this is a
simple fix. I have Entourage and Gmail set up. When I reply to an
email that was to my Gmail account it immediately shows up in my inbox
as a new message in Entourage. I've tried every logical, and
illogical, set of rules I can imagine to get those new messages to show
up in my sent folder in Entourage. No luck.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

Hi,

yes, I remember seeing that, too, when I was still using a Gmail account, an
it's because of the way Gmail handles e-mail conversations. If I remember
correctly, I set up a rule that automatically moved incoming messages from
my Gmail account ("From" is "[email protected]") to the Sent Items folder, and
it worked pretty well. What kind of rules have you tried up to this point?

Well, I have it first take any email with my name in the "from" field,
mark it as read, and put it in the sent folder. But that doesn't do
anything. It does mark it as read, but it still comes right to the
inbox.

I don't really know what else to suggest here. The rule *should* work, and I
know it did in my case. Sorry for not being more helpful.

That is helpful, actually, at least I know I 'should' be on the right
track. I'll keep plugging.
