Anonymous Delegation
Is there any way to have a delegate's name not visible in the FROM part of
an e-mail response? I want it to look as if the response came from the
person to whom it was addressed?

To the best of my knowledge this isn't possible. For security's sake one
person should never be able to transparently send mail on someone's
behalf. Although I wouldn't suggest doing this you could just have the
person connect to the same account directly. This offers no control over
what he can do or say on your behalf.

Hope this helps! bill

I've had this come up as a request from a client. You can have the delegate
add the boss's account to his/her copy of Entourage rather than using the
Delegate feature. That way, the delegate can in fact respond as the boss.
Of course Bill's caution above does apply, but at least in this one case, my
client was adamant that this is how they wanted it to work.

FYI, the "on behalf of" thing doesn't work with every email client anyway.
Although Entourage and Outlook will show both the delegate and the boss if
the "Sender" header is set, many other email programs ignore it.

The only thing that doesn't work so well with having two copies of Entourage
connecting to the same account is that the links between messages and
replies are created only in the copy of Entourage that creates the replies,
so neither computer will have a complete set of history links. I have
attempted to address this with a script I posted here a while back (subject:
Set Reply Status Script). The script seems to work OK, though on a large
mailbox it can take a few minutes to run.
