retrieving a "sent item" from backup dbx

Due to file size I recently cut pasted and re-named the
SENT ITEMS.DBX folder to a back-up drive and started with
a fresh .dbx in Outlook Express.
How do I view and retrieve a message from the backed-up
sent items?
