Retrieving WORD FILE properties with .NET

Hi all,
I am developing an app like an win explorer and i have to show the
properties (Author, Pages, Name, etc) from a Word file wich is in disk.

The only way i have found to do this is by opening the doc in a hidden
process, but if i have 10 words running, the performance is lower and lower.

Any ideas?

See http://www.mvps.org/word/FAQs/MacrosVBA/DSOFile.htm. The DLL you get
from the link in that article is unmanaged code, but it should run OK
anyway.

Do i have another choice by using mannaged code ?

Hi, Marcelo,

I'm not aware of anything like dsofile.dll that is available for download.
However, C++ code for a similar program is listed at
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;186898 and should be
not too difficult to port into C#.
