"return to the form" link clears all completed fields

We use a form has validation error checking that is
working. However, there is a link at the bottom of the
Form Validation Page page that reads "return to the form"

We need to kill this link because it clears the entire form
of all data. In other words, if a visitor forgot to
complete the "email" text box, was forwarded to the Form
Validation Page, and clicked on the "return to the form"
link, they would lose all the information that they had
entered and be confronted with a blank form. The shtml.exe
file that contains the problem link (<a
href="/analysisform.html">Return to the form.</a>) is
hidden/unaccessible to us for download and I don't think we
could edit an exe file, even if we could get ahold of it.
What we need in place of this link is a simple "Click back
button on browser to return to the form" message.

Suggestions? Thanx,

Kelley L

To accomplish this, your first need to create a custom
confirmation page. This is an ordinary Web page, formatted
however you want, but with a Confirmation Field component
for each form field.

To insert a Confirmation Field component, choose Insert,
Web Component, Advanced, Confirmation Field, Finish, and
then type the name of the form field.

Once you've created the confirmation page, right-click
your original form and choose Form Properties, Options,
Confirmation Page, and then specify the file name in the
URL Of Conformation Page (Optional) box.

Thanks so much for your reply. I think we're almost there.
However, the validation page doesn't display the names of
the fields that didn't comply with the standards we set (so
that the visitor can see what s/he did wrong). Here's the
code on the confirmation page:

<p align="left"><font face="Verdana" size="5"><b>You Forgot
Something
Important!!<br>
<br>
</b></font><font face="Arial" size="2">Please correct the
information you left
out by clicking the back button on your browser, filling in
the required fields,
and then submit the information again:</font></p>
<p align="left"><!--webbot bot="ConfirmationField"
S-Field="Name" --><br>
<!--webbot bot="ConfirmationField"
S-Field="Street_Address_1" --><br>
<!--webbot bot="ConfirmationField" S-Field="City_State" --><br>
<!--webbot bot="ConfirmationField" S-Field="Zip_Code" --><br>
<!--webbot bot="ConfirmationField" S-Field="Home_Phone" --><br>
<!--webbot bot="ConfirmationField" S-Field="Email_Address"
--></p>
</body>
</html>

The URL of the order form is located here if that's a help:

Thanks,
Kelley L.

Unfortunately, I don't think FrontPage makes the error message
available to a custom confirmation page.

If you want that much control over the form submission, consider using
the techniques in either or both of these articles:
