We use Exchange 5.5 on W2K Server, and I'm having trouble getting
Entourage X 10.1.4 to retrieve a usable recipient address from the
LDAP server. What happens is this:
1. Create a new message
2. Type an unresolved address into the "To:" field, i.e. "John", to
send a message to John Doe in this organization
3. Click "Check Names" in address box
4. Entourage X connects to LDAP server (no problem with connection -
it's the same address as the Exchange Server) and returns the resolved
address, "jdoe", which is "correct" as far as address book is
concerned
5. Even with resolved address, the email isn't sendable - all "Send"
buttons are grayed out. Entering an email address with an "@" symbol
makes it sendable.
Simply sending the message without checking names still prompts the
LDAP connection and search, but the send operation errors out saying
there needs to be a valid recipient on the message. What do I need to
do to make the LDAP results valid for sending emails? I'm assuming it
should retrieve "[email protected]" to make it a sendable email, even
internally. Is there an Exchange 5.5 LDAP setting that needs changing?
Thanks,
Doug
