Reverse highlighting all over the document

Ever since we installed XP we occasionally get this
error. Everytime I try to click somewhere it reverses the
highlighting.

Basically what happens is that movement of the cursor
(whether by mouse or by key control) suddenly(without
warning, pop-up boxes, etc.) starts causing highlighting
(while reversing cursor undoes the highlighting). The
phenomenon affects both Microsoft Word and Explorer. I
have found no easy way to make the problem go away.
Sometimes, simply closing MS Word and Explorer will solve
the problems; other times, I've had to reboot.

You might have a stuck key that is anchoring a selection.
