Right-click on contact does not display properties to allow change

Word 2002 XP - I click on Tools / Letters & mailings / envelopes and labels
/ then click on the address book symbol / Outlook contacts - when I right
click on any contact a box appears that says Properties but it will not open
when I click on it - so I cannot alter any contact details and must create a
new contact. Also cannot delete any contacts. I could do all of this in
Word 2000
