Right time = wrong time

I import my iCal calendar into Entourage (2004 v. 11.3.3) and have a
weird problem. If an event is scheduled for 2pm, it shows up in the
calendar display (day, week or month) as 1pm. But when I open that
individual event, it shows the time correctly as 2pm.

How can I get Entourage's calendar to display the right time?

What timezone was your computer in when you exported from iCal and also when
you imported into Entourage?

What version of Mac OS X are you using?

Are any of the times correct -- such as before or after the daylight savings
time change dates (March 11 this year in the U.S.)?

It's a new computer, and everything's been on Pacific Time only since I
first turned it on.

I'm using the latest OS X: 10.4.8

And now that you mention it, the displayed times are correct after March
11. Hmmm. Again, the times are all correct when you double-click on an
event and open the individual event's window. But when displayed in
daily, weekly or monthly calendars, the times are one hour early BEFORE
March 11.

So what does this mean, and what do I do about it?

And thanks for taking the time to help. I really appreciate it.

One more thing ... I ran the Office 2004 Update (11.3.3) which is
supposed to deal with this, but nothing changed. After running the
update and re-importing the iCal calendar, the same problem existed.
The times were correct, but were displayed in Calendars one hour early
if they were before March 11.

Weird.

same here for me. If I drag and copy an event from before March 10th
to March 11th or later the start time of the event is one hour earlier
and AM if it was a PM appointment. Opening it shows the correct times
but if It is dragged back before March 10th the erroneous earlier time
is now shown in all views or if opened.

I have installed the newest update supposed to take care of this,
rebooted the system without change.

Any response from Microsoft?

You do realize that DST begins at 2:00 AM on March 11th, right?

Yes, I realize that, but I don't know what to do about Entourage
displaying events at the wrong time.

Here's another little tid-bit: in the events that have the proper time
entered but are displayed one hour early in the calendar ... when I open
up the event, and go to Event / Time Zone, no time zone is selected. As
soon as I enter my time zone, it gets displayed properly.

I do have the right time zone selected in Preferences. Any ideas why
this is happening?

I am having the same problem. My time zone is set properly in
Entourage. When I open the event it shows the right time. But in the
calendar it if one hour off. This is a serious problem, which can
cause people to miss important appointments. I am not using an
Exchange server; this is just my personal computer.

How can Microsoft screw up so badly?

Did you apply the OS updates. It's not just Office that had to be updated
but there were several system updates as well.
