Root folder for Entourage

I am trying to add a script to my Entourage Script Menu Items. I have
been told that I need to add a Templates folder to the root folder, but
I don't know what that is or where to find it. If anyone can tell,
please do!
Thanks!

It's here:
~Documents/Microsoft User Data/Entourage Script Menu Items/

No - that's where the script goes (in ordere to appear in the script
menu). But that has nothing to do with the Templates folder. If we're
talking here about Paul's "Message Template" script, the Templates
folder is inside your Entourage database, not in the Finder. m.

It's called Open Template, by Bryan Harris. That goes in the Entourage
Script Menu Item folder. Then the Template folder is supposed to go
into the root folder.

Where is the database, if I don't find it through the finder?
Thanks, j

It's called Open Template, by Bryan Harris. That goes in the Entourage
Script Menu Item folder. Then the Template folder is supposed to go
into the root folder.

You should write Bryan Harris and ask him what he means. "root folder" is
NOT an official term for Entourage, so none of us know what it's supposed to
mean. Ask Bryan - I'm sure his email address is in the ReadMe. And perhaps
you could suggest gently that his documentation might make it clearer (and
should maybe avoid terms like "root folder").
Where is the database, if I don't find it through the finder?

The database is here:

~/Documents/Microsoft User Data/Office 2004 Identities/Main Identity/

where ~/ means your OS X user folder, and "Main Identity" might be instead a
different name if you've renamed your current Entourage identity.

But there is NOTHING you can alter in the database file. Don't try to do
anything with it. I suspect that Bryan just wants to specify a particular
location somewhere in the Microsoft User Data folder so he knows where to
find the template. If it's not clear from the ReadMe, ask him directly.
There's no way anyone here can know what a script writer means, once you
understand that "root folder" is not an accepted or official term.

Or just use Paul's script instead! :))) m.

I believe Bryan means you should create a Templates folder within
Entourage, in the "On my computer" folder, on the same level as the
inbox and outbox folders.
