RPC and outlook 2003

OS: windows XP
Application: Outlook 2003
Mail Server: Microsoft Exchange

When start outlook for the first time, the following
error message appears: "A system component, RPC, required
by outlook to connect to the e-mail server is not
configured properly.
For more information, contact your system administrator."

Your help is greatly appreciated.
