Rule Too Complicated?

I want to be able to create a rule that when I send a message, a copy of the message is saved to a specific folder, and marked as read. Problem is, in Outlook 2003, I can't find the "mark as read" under the "check messages after sending" option

Currenlty I've got a rule that cc's myself on the sent message. I'm then handling the received message "when it arrives" and moving it and marking it as read

This is too time consuming, as I have a constantly changing list of folders and I don't want to set up 2 rules for each situation

Any suggestions?

I guess I should have looked at previous posts. It looks like there
isn't a good way to do this.

I guess I'll just find a new way of organizing!

F*%$ing Micros**t!!

Or get hold of the bespoke action which marks the item as read.
I had it once, with Office 2000, but don't recall where I found it.

Tools>Options>Other>Reading Pane. Uncheck "Mark items as read when viewed
in the Reading Pane".

This seems a non-sequitur to me. We have someone who wants to mark sent
mail as read even if a rule moves it to a folder. The rules applying to
sent mail don't include the "Mark as read" action, but they do include teh
custom actions. There is a custom action you can obtain which will mark
the mail as read. I suggested using this.

I don't see the connection with preview marking items as read.
