Rules and transferring inbox mail to a folder

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard)
Processor: Intel
Email Client: Exchange

I have a rule setup that when mail comes from lets say
"John S" a copy of that mail is to be made and put in a folder named "John S" and marked as read.

The rule does all that but always puts 2 of the same email in the folder?

I can't figure out a way to just have one copy or why it's putting 2 of the same email in the folder when it copies?

Any ideas?

Is your rule *copying* the message or *moving* the message? Sounds like
it might be doing both.
