I use Rules to maintain my 3 email accounts in Entourage. But the rules
that I've created for my Hotmail account just don't work, period (they ARE
enabled). Examples include rules for categorizing and moving messages.
However, rules for my other accounts work perfectly. How do I get my
Hotmail Rules to work?

I might not have this exactly right, but the Hotmail account folders that
you see in the folders pane of Entourage (or Outlook Express) are really
just a sort of window into the Hotmail account itself over at MSN or
Microsoft or where ever.
The mail you see in them isn't really ON your machine. So since they are not
really coming onto your machine, or into Entourage's actual database, then
maybe that's why the Entourage Rules cannot affect them.
Likewise, if there are any important mails in your Hotmail inbox (in
Entourage's folders pane) that you really need to be saved, you'll should
drag them into a "local" folder that really IS on your machine, in the
folders pane. Because if the Hotmail account gets cancelled, or erased or
lost, then the mails that WERE viewable on your machine will disappear.
Maybe this is what you were trying to accomplish via a rule.
If I'm wrong about the Hotmail folder being outside of the scope of
Entourage's rules, the you may consider changing the order of the Rules in
your Rules list. Sometimes the order of rules places an action before
another, preventing its completion.
