Rules don't work with attachments...?

Why do my rules that I've set up for different people I correspond with NOT
work when those people send me an attachment. Instead of their email going
into the proper folder when its downloaded, it just goes to my INBOX.

I think you must have another rule higher up in your Rules list which does
something to messages with attachments, and then has the box checked which
says "Do not apply other rules to messages which meet these criteria".
Uncheck that box. Rules which move messages or run applescripts cannot
uncheck that box, so always have those rules further down the list. If you
need to both run a script and move messages, you'll need a separate rule
just for message which meet both criteria, that has both actions.
