Rules not working

T

TH

My rules have stopped working all of a sudden and my inbox is getting
flooded with spam. My ISP marks suspect e-mail with a tag in the
subject line [BULK] - so I have a rule that says IF subject contains
[BULK] & Sender is NOT in my address book, mark as junk and move to
junk folder. It suddenly stopped working this week. However, unlike
other posts I have seen here already, if I control-click the message(s)
and Apply Rule it DOES work. So for some reason it is not applying to
the rule when it comes in.

Here is what I have done already:

* Repaired permissions;
* Verified that this rule is enabled;
* Verified it is the first rule in the rules list and no other rule is
pre-empting it;
* Rebuilt database

All to no avail. This rule worked fine for at least the last four
months and only now stopped working...

Any ideas here folks?

Have you tried deleting the rule and re-creating it? This sometimes seems to
cure problems such as you are experiencing.

Yup. Three times now!

Thanks anyway.
