Rules stopped working

I am using Entourage that came with Office X for Mac.
I had some rules that were working just fine.
I had my Wife's mail going to her folder,
Junk mail was deleted,
My ISP marks spam as "*****SPAM*****" and if the subject contained that, it
went right to the trash.

It was working great until one day, it went nuts.
The Spam was ending up in the in box or in my Wife's folder. Some of the
messages got errors because they started looking for folders that didn't
exist.

I deleted all the rules from the identity folders and started over.

The rules don't work!

There is a message that keeps looking for a folder that doesn't exist, so
that tells me that there are rules still in the system somewhere even though
I deleted all of them and started over.

Can anyone help?

First thing to try is rebuilding the database. Hold down the option key
while launching Entourage.
