I've looked through this and many, many others for an answer to no avail.
Rule setup in Outlook 2K. Sometimes they work, sometimes not. Even trying a
Manual Rule Run works sporadically. Latest Office SP and Windows SP are
installed. No viruses, worms or other contaminants.
This happens on all our desktops, so it is not limited to a specific
machine. The EX2K box is fine as noticed when we install an new desktop,
configure the account to use Exchange. For the first little while (the
period of time is indeterminate) the rules execute as expected then just
magically begin to fail randomly. No errors anywhere (even logs etc).
This is a very frustrating scenario and after reading the articles in this
group, I'm quite concerned about upgrading to an EX2K3 and Office 2K3
environment if we no one can figure this out or provide a solution.
btw: One of our developers wrote some VB script that interim fixes the
problem, but there have been issues with that method as well.
Does anyone know why these rules fail?
