Hello all. I have a spreadsheet that contains sales
forecasts and actual figs. It contains a section for How
many $$ per month need to be acheived to reach the total
forecast for the year.
As of now, it takes the difference between the total
forecast for 2004 and the sum of the total actual sales
for 2004 thus far and divides by 9 (the number of periods
left in our fiscal year).
Is there a way to have this total automatically update
monthly (i.e. when it gets to be February, take the
difference between the total forecast and actual sales
through Jan divided by the 8 periods then left)?
Possibly an =IF function would work, but a) don't know
how to format the date expression, and b) not sure I can
nest as many fx as it would take to do all the months.
Any advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
