Running Dates - Month

B

Beth B.

Hello all and thanks in advance for any advice on this issue. I have a sales forecast that I need to keep running averages in. I would like to automate it, so that we don't have to remember to go in and update the formula every month. This needs to be done by the year - the current month (i.e. 12,000 goal for the year / by 12 months = 1,000 per month in January, but in Feb, I sold 6,000, so I need the current month to update automatically so I will now be dividing the 6,000 by 11 months, etc.) I know how to use the Today() and Now() functions, but all I really want is the number corresponding to the current month returned. I tried using the Month() function, but noticed that it did not change when the new month arrived. This is probably not as hard as I am making it on myself.
Any advice will be much appreciated

Best Regards

Bet
