Safe to delete old backup identities if all is well?

I get a backup identity every time I use Database Utility. Is it safe
to delete all but the most recent backup? It should contain everything
the older ones contain, plus new stuff, right?

Thanks,

Hi Heath,

yes, that is correct. It's always good to have one or two backup files (in a
different location, preferably), but there's no need for a dozen backup
files when your system's running fine.
