Savage delete

Version: 2004
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Intel
Email Client: pop

I just went to my mail rules and found one that I DID NOT CREATE called "savage delete". It was set to delete any incoming email that contained "com" or "gmail.com" or ".com".

I have no idea how long it's been there, but I just upgraded to Leopard last week.

There is really no way for me to easily figure out how much stuff went to delete.

Someone with access to your computer created that rule then. Do you
allow others to use your computer or know your Mac OS X user account
password?

Nobody has access to my computer or password. That's what's disturbing. What's also weird about the rule setup was that it had multiple redundancies in the logic, sort of what you'd get if you put a bunch of exclusion strings in a hat and said "draw 3".

I think this may be the final straw to get me to convert over to Mac Mail.

Sounds like you're insinuating that you were hacked but I've not heard
of any vulnerabilities nor seen any other reports like this. Entourage's
rules cannot even be modified with AppleScript.

Whoever created the rule doesn't seem to understand how Entourage's
rules or E-mail rules in general work.

Adding my two cents....if this were a vulnerability in Entourage you
wouldn't be the only one reporting it.
