save deleted folder contents

I want to save the contents of my deleted e-mail folder. I have burned
a CD with the identities folder from my microsoft user folder. Is this
the correct action.

Yes, what you did is correct.
To recover your deleted files, you can overwrite that same folder and
re-launch entourage.
(after you have saved your current microsoft user folder of course)_.

Max is correct. In the future, if you don't want to back up everything and
instead just back up a folder's contents, simply drag the folder from the
Folder List to the Desktop.

The real benefit of this comes when you need to extract something from the
folder. Rather than having to switch identities, you can simply drag the
MBOX file into any Entourage identity to import it, and you can then
immediately access its contents.
