Saved Attachments Folder?

I'm confused about the folder Documents/Microsoft User Data/Saved
Attachments. All of my incoming attachments seem to be automatically
downloaded here. I normally take care to either delete an attachment
from a message or save it in a location of my choosing. Is there any
way to turn off or control this automatic saving to 'Saved
Attachments'?

This folder is a temporary storage location for attachements you
double-click from Entourage. The attachment is copied there to let you
open it in another application.

Entourage stores the attachements in its own database. An embedded image
that you never double-click, but only display in its e-mail for instance
should not show up in this folder.
